Govt will not interfere in court decision to allow live telecast of Najib trialKUALA LUMPUR: The government will not interfere with any decision by the court, regarding a live telecast of former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s corruption trial, says Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Hanipa Maidin. Allowing live telecast of Najib trial will devalue the whole process and demean our judiciary. It won’t be too far away before we have picnics at Dataran Merdeka watching public executions again. Yeeha!! Reporting from the media is enough. Is this a Parliament session? With the thugs out there, won't the witnesses be in danger of assault, threats and coercion? Can the police guarantee protection for all involved? 'What if he slinks off to the toilet again? “ Don’t broadcast it. You’ll get a lot of Wannabes Lawyers discussing on the trial, making all sorts of comments. Let the court do its job.
