ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Conception Bay South lawyer Robert Regular was scheduled to be the last person on the witness stand in his trial, but his lawyers informed the court on April 19 that they may want to call one more.
Badcock asked Regular when he had begun having the issue, which Regular said started in 2008. He told the court he didn’t go to a doctor about the issue until 2011 because he was embarrassed. She asked him whether he felt comfortable having sex in his office, which prompted Regular’s lawyer Jerome Kennedy to interject, pointing out that Justice Vikas Khaladkar had already ruled in a pre-trial application “on the matter of similar facts and propensity.”
He said due to his multiple interactions with the family that payment was the “furthest thing from his mind.” Badcock referenced previous testimony Regular had given where he said he had worked 70 to 80 hours a week, asking why he had done work for free instead of working with clients who paid him or spending more time with his family.
