First-ever speedcubing competition in P.E.I. draws large crowd | SaltWire #rubikscube #charlottetownST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The first day of the sexual assault trial of lawyer Robert Regular began in St. John’s court on Monday, April 8.

Percey said she had cross-referenced some of the information the complainant had provided to her with files from the provincial Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development to better ascertain dates of the incidents. It took the entire afternoon for the alleged victim, now 35, to give her testimony. She told the court she first met Regular when she was living in a group home and he was representing her mother, who was trying to regain custody. She said her mother had taken her to the parking lot of McDonald's in Conception Bay South and told her that she was going to meet someone, which turned out to be Regular.

A second incident happened when she was 15, she told the court. She was in an abusive relationship with a 32-year-old at the time and was pregnant. She had gone to Regular for help, she said, after receiving paperwork from CSSD that they would take her child as soon as it was born. She claimed that when she was speaking with him in his office, he grabbed the chair she was sitting in, pulling her closer. She said he then started touching her legs and digitally penetrated her.

When asked how she knew that, the woman said she “just knew” and said they never discussed any payment for his legal services, and he never asked for any. She said she gave him $200 to $300 in total for the times he had been her lawyer.A fourth incident happened after she had a party at her house, and someone was seriously assaulted, the woman told the court. The police contacted her to come in for questioning, she said, and she was worried it would have an impact on the custody of her children.
