Matildas star striker Sam Kerr’s defence team have lodged its skeleton arguments with a London crown court underlining the Chelsea forward had no intention to racially insult a British police officer.

The defence team for Sam Kerr have filed its arguments with a court in London in a major update to the case after the Matildas striker was accused of making a racial slur.

The 30-year-old pleaded not guilty to a public disorder charge under section 31 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.Lawyers for the soccer star are attempting to have the charge dismissed to avoid the case from going to a criminal trial next year.
