Releasing details is good. Making judgements on those details are not. Saying “he wrote a check to the brothers for $3500” would be fine. Saying “he paid the brothers $3500 to stage the attack” is not fine. Saying “a note exists” over “Jussie wrote a note” when not a fact is sad
The Chicago PD publicly announced every detail of this case as it progressed. It was extremely irresponsible. I don’t know why people weren’t pointing this out at the time.
Superintendent also said in a news conference that Jussie wrote the letter to himself, but then the FBI had to come out and say “actually no, we have no idea or proof of who wrote it”.
Per TMZ, the superintendent was running his mouth about Jussie paying them $3500 for an attack, but it was later verified he paid them that money for personal training services.
