A Labor government would change workplace laws to ensure the minimum wage for Australia's low-paid workers is a "living wage".
"A living wage should make sure people earn enough to make ends meet, and be informed by what it costs to live in Australia today - to pay for housing, for food, for utilities, to pay for a basic phone and data plan," Mr Shorten said. In doing so, the commission would take submissions from community organisations, business representatives and unions.
9NewsQueensland So who will end up paying for this? Stop preference voting, and nobody on “government” payroll should have a vote, i.e. politicians, bureaucracy employees, all those on the dole etc.........
randlight And watch the 1% start with the horseshlt rhetoric about not being able to afford it. Despite the fact that it’s inequality that destroys economic growth. Decent wages will lift the economy and not a moment too soon.
