'We were left in the streets to fend for ourselves. It was very difficult. It was like we have leprosy' - ANC NEC member Ronald Lamola on life after the Youth League | kgmadisa

Lamola becomes a tad emotional when recalling the hardships he and his comrades faced outside the ruling party.

He used his law degree, which he obtained at University of Venda, to establish his own law firm with offices in Brooklyn, Pretoria. He is now faced with a difficult decision of leaving the firm to fully focus on politics. Lamola is sixth on the list of people nominated for parliament, which guarantees him a cabinet position should the ANC win the elections.

"I think that is a good example for the youth of the country. Politics is not a career and we all can't use it as a career and that is what made it difficult to decide whether to go to public office or to remain but I had to make a choice to say I have done my part I think in practise. The judgment was as a result of a report by the public protector titled 'Secure in Conform', which the president had challenged in court.

"I think it was an error which should not have happened. The NEC should have held the executive to account on this issues," Lamola says.

Ndobe to make court appearance over Magaqa murderPolitical killings have become synonymous with the ANC in Kwazulu-Natal. Yerrrrr, this dents the ANC jong.....yeses. This man is a mayor in a district municipality, Sindiso was a councillor in a local municipality. This man was elevated to ANC provincial structure, Sindiso was not even in the ANC regional structure. I wonder what may have triggered this thuggery if it's true.
