Robert Kidd was seeking the damages for a business deal involved his North Sea drilling company.

An oil tycoon has failed in a $150 million damages action against his former lawyers and American business partners.

As a result of the alleged fraud the Aberdeen man claimed he had entered into the deal, on terms unfavourable to him. Kidd now has 21 days to appeal and is also facing a possible seven figure bill for the cost of the proceedings.He said: “I did not find him to be an impressive witness. Throughout his evidence he professed himself unable to remember matters which I would have expected him to remember, and denied the occurrence of events which were clearly vouched by contemporaneous documents.”
