A man, aged in his 20s, has been charged in connection with an alleged hit-and-run in which a 67-year-old pedestrian was killed in Dublin last month.Carol Seery, the wife of a former garda, had been out socialising with her husband last month when she was hit by a car, which failed to remain at the scene.The incident happened at 9.10pm on October 4 at the Cross Guns Bridge on Phibsborough Road in Dublin 7 and she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The case was referred to the Garda Ombudsman as it was believed the suspect car had come to the attention of gardaí shortly before the collision. A garda spokesperson said on Friday: "The male arrested in connection with the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Wednesday, 4th October 2023 at Cross Guns Bridge on Phibsborough Road, Dublin 7, has been charged.
