The Supreme Court agrees to hear a case next term concerning Kansas' prosecution of three undocumented immigrants for using stolen Social Security numbers

Those convictions were overturned when the Kansas Supreme Court ruled that the federal immigration law at issue preempts a state from prosecuting undocumented immigrants, when the basis of the claim comes from information that has been culled from federal immigration forms. The case raises the question about the extent to which federal immigration law preempts states from also trying to enforce immigration law.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act preempts the state from using information to prosecute individuals if the information is on the federal I-9 form, even though the state did not use the I-9 form to gather the information for the criminal prosecutions.Read MoreAt issue is a federal law, the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which makes it illegal to employ unauthorized immigrants and establishes an employment verification system for employers.

I don’t understand why this would go to the Supreme Court if u use a fake social security number it’s a federal offense Why wouldn’t a state / federal prosecutor deal with it 🤔 Is this that good old Hollywood razzle -dazzle for the media to keep people talking 🤷🏾‍♀️

hundreds of thousands are doing the same all over the U.S.A. get tougth on those little scoundrels!!!

As an identity theft victum I do NOT find it ammusing anyone steals anothers identity!

Why is my question. If they used stolen SS, they should go to jail just as anyone else. The Supreme Court should not have agreed to hear that case.

Throw away the key!

Democrats will with help of media fight this. Not good for their narrative

This is so stupid. If they did it what difference does it make who prosecutes them. Feds will prosecute and deport

They’re guilty

Get em😡😡😡😡

Great they should go to jail

Borrowed?

Why does the Supreme Court have to hear a case like this? Sounds like a collosal waste of this court’s time.

ILLEGAL say it for what it is

My poll shows that people think there is more fake news on cable channels like CNN & CNBC than on facebook or Google - facebook an hero compared to CNN TheDemocrats HouseDemocrats HouseGOP POTUS seanhannity nytimes SenateDems realDonaldTrump cnni

And they're Off!!!...

Hold them accountable for breaking another law! This insanity must stop if we are to prevent our country from slowly being destroyed from within!

Who thinks they shouldn't be prosecuted? I'd like to prosecute them.

From Florida to Brazil STF

3 ? Try 1/2 of Los Angeles

When Fox or CNN anchors posts bad stuff they are fired & Fox/CNN not shut done or fined - Governments/police need to get off their lazy buts & regulate individual posts with laws & not force Facebook/Google to do it for them TheDemocrats HouseDemocrats HouseGOP POTUS nytimes

Deport them

Seriously.... NOTHING better to do

Build the wall.

Isn't this logic just sick-twisted? Illegals are AGAIN to be let off for their rampant law-breaking, but we citizens MUST follow each and EVERY law, or government WILL take us down!!!

Why, they committed two crimes, charge them & deport them quickly? Silly a local judge can’t handle this.

What a ridiculous case for the Supreme Court to bother with. I don't understand Washington.

Where’s Kavanough’s Beer?

Is that a stuffed head of RBG? 🤔

Artist left out the beer can.

If American citizens can be prosecuted for using stolen Social Security numbers, it is ludicrous to think that illigal immigrants cannot be prosecuted for the same crime!!

Is Ruth sleeping again?

Supreme Court to consider whether Beltway sniper Lee Boyd Malvo deserves new sentencingBetween Sept. 5 and Oct. 22, 2002, John Allen Muhammad and Malvo killed 10 people and wounded others in sniper attacks in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Sure, give him the death sentence and save the taxpayers the expense of supporting him for another 20 or more years. We must allow ourselves to find root cause for mass killings by guns. And accept the fact for what it is. I ask myself, why is it 90% White Males and White Supremacist emboldened, American Citizens? no
