The Gunner government had to shelve its plan to build a new $70 million, state of the art facility in the suburb of Pinelands due to its precarious budget situation.

Sky News understands the Northern Territory government will on Wednesday officially scrap its plans to build a new youth justice facility to replace the notorious Don Dale Detention Centre.
