Momentum fined £16,700 but says breaches of electoral law were ‘incredibly minor’

The left-wing activist group Momentum which supports Jeremy Corbyn has been fined £16,700 for ‘multiple breaches’ of electoral law.

Momentum said its net spend for the entire election was £38,000, while in contrast, the established political parties spent millions on the election that cost the Conservatives their majority.The Tories spent more than £18.5 million, while Labour spent £11 million and the Liberal Democrats spent £6.8 million.

The left-wing activist group Momentum has supported Jeremy Corbyn since he was made leader of the Labour party
