Saskatchewan is challenging the federal government’s ability to levy such a charge

It argues Ottawa’s plan is unconstitutional because it does not respect provincial sovereignty and will not be evenly applied across all jurisdictions.Ottawa argues it can impose the tax on April 1 because climate change is a national issue.

Besides support for farming, mining and manufacturing, Moe said he would also raise the issue of Bill C-69, the federal legislation that would overhaul energy project reviews, and the carbon tax with Trudeau.

Drunkard. Sun would do your brain some good...God knows it needs it

Bread is up to $5/loaf. Only explanation is the carbon taxes. The poor are going to feel it. My uncle in Alberta got his latest hydro bill. The carbon tax was more than the cost of the electricity used. It more than doubled his bill. My heat is never turned up to more than 10 now

And if he gets this delay then he'll ask for another when he loses and tries for the Supreme Court. Accept you'll lose the case and get on with a 'tax' that helps the environment. A 'tax' that most people will be reimbursed.

We all want a lot of things. This isn’t one of them.

They are definitely going to impose it now. Trudeau is in trouble and needs something he can use to emotionally manipulate his useful idiots.

Stop playing politics with the environment. Cons know full well carbon tax works and it doesn’t impact the economy adversely.

Appeals Court upholds ruling ordering $17B in damages to Quebec smokersThe Quebec Court of Appeal has upheld a landmark judgment that ordered three tobacco companies to pay billions of dollars in damages to Quebec smokers. Of course... the courts ruling in favour of giving Quebec free hand outs again. I’m not surprised. These tobacco companies should tell this judge to eat it. Smoking was their choice. I agree with commenter above - smoking is/was their choice. Typical times we live in - no one ever has to take responsibility for their bad behaviour. Sue the product maker or service provider. Get the lawyers involved. Smoking is a bad habit, an addiction. Own your problem! Is it because they didnt have french pictures on the cigarette packs to show them what was going to happen to them? This ruling is stupid. chioces

Why!!!!!! How is this $16B settlement only going to Quebec smokers? It's a bad lawsuit, but why aren't the rest of Canada involved in the settlement? Don't say, only Quebec cares, because Ontario has more ambulance chaser then Quebec.
