Dallas police officer Dustin Dillard faced a civil trial in the August 2016 death of Tony Timpa.

has ended with a jury finding three of four officers violated Timpa's constitutional rights. Timpa's son was also awarded $1 million.

The trial that began Monday, Sept. 18 involved the Timpa family and Dustin Dillard, one of the responding officers on the night of Timpa's death. At some point after leaving, Timpa, who was dealing with mental illness, called 911, saying he was schizophrenic, off his prescription medication and had taken cocaine.

At one point, paramedics check his vital signs. Timpa appears unresponsive when he's given a sedative.
