Technician Kieran Sharkey named as part of state firm's High Court lawsuit to compel developers to name staff who had sought corrupt payments from them

An ESB technician who is alleged to have been involved in the corrupt payments scandal said his refusal to answer his employer’s questions amounted to “self preservation”, according to his High Court affidavit.

Kieran Sharkey said he was keen to continue working for the state-owned company, which issued High Court proceedings against him in April, regarding alleged corrupt payments sought by its staff from developers,.
