THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay Police Service officer charged with assault while on duty will contest the charges at trial next month.
The charges relate to an incident on the city’s south side last spring. Officers were called to a transit shelter in front of Thunder Bay City Hall on April 3, 2022 at approximately 4:30 p.m. for reports of an unwanted person. The Special Investigations Unit launched an investigation and determined in June 2022 that there was enough evidence to lay a criminal charge against Frankow.
