A second man has appeared in court accused of attempted murder in connection with a Skelmersdale shooting.
Cole Kelly, from Skelmersdale, is among two men charged with trying to kill Stephen Birch when gunshots were fired in the town on November 9. Police at the time said a man was taken to hospital gunshot wound to his leg. This week police charged Kelly, of 22, and Warren Williams, 20, with the attempted murder of Mr Birch. Williams, of Broad Lane, Kirkby, went before Preston Magistrates Court on Wednesday . Kelly, of Inglewhite, is also accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and went before the same court this morning.Dressed in a grey jumper with black sleeves, he appeared emotionless as he spoke only to confirm his age and address.
No bail application was made on Kelly's behalf and he was remanded into custody. Both men will go before Preston Crown Court on August 16 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
