The Dimbaza Magistrate's Court ordered the South African Police Service to ensure that one of the five people accused of the murders of University of Fort Hare employees be taken to an off-prison hospital for medical attention.

The accused, Bongani Peter, 51, told the magistrate, Mhlanga Bala, he was tortured by police during an interrogation that started around 18:00 and only ended the next morning at 04:00.
