But, he says Bester's escape would not have been possible without significant degradation within the prison.Cameron says Magudumana lied at least ten times in her affidavit to get access to the body found in Bester's cell. These lies included what she said about her relationship with Bester, he says. Cameron says the police should"at least" have been asked to investigate her for perjury over this.
Cameron says this would be the case if there was a guarantee that there would be certain resolution of the matter. JICS was not sure of this at the time, he says, and that informed his decision to release relevant information to GroundUp.Dyantyi points out that the quarterly reports made by JICS on the Bester matter framed its investigation as being focused on the mysterious circumstances of his death and not his escape. Cameron concedes this.
