Attorney-General Idrus Harun has requested for a postponement of the CBT case facing Najib Razak and Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah involving IPIC, owing to new developments raised in the representation by Irwan’s lawyer to the Attorney-General’s Chambers. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 3, 2023.
“The representation has been referred to the attorney-general and his instructions are for me to apply for a postponement of the case. Many new matters were raised in the representation by Irwan’s lawyer and we need time to confirm it,” he said. Today was set to be the first day of the trial of the case involving the former prime minister and the former chief secretary of the Treasury. The court had also set April 4, April 8-11 and in May to hear the case.
Kumaraendran then told the court that he had also sent a representation letter in February 2020, but did not receive any response and a new representation was sent last month.

Shafee: Najib to send representation to have six RM6.6b IPIC CBT charges withdrawn following RM1.8b legal settlement between govt and Abu Dhabi firmsKUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s lawyer has indicated to the High Court today their representation bid to get the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to drop... I thought that this NajibRazak clown, educated at this joke of a place UniofNottingham, would be able to calculate that RM6.6b less RM1.8b means that he's still on the hook for a missing RM4.4b. Eaten up or stolen by Roastmeat and yananajib for sure no? The rich think they can pay (or let someone else pay) their way out of the crimes they have committed. Unfortunately, the odious culture of impunity persists because the rich take care of the rich. A poor man can send no letter of representation or pay their way out of a crime! MoF should not allow?
