BREAKING: UK Court Convicts Nigeria’s Former Deputy Senate President Ekweremadu, Wife Of Human Trafficking For Organ HarvestingHowever, Ekweremadus' 25-year-old daughter Sonia, who was to receive a kidney donation from the trafficking victim, wept as she was cleared of the same charge this morning.
Daily Mail reports that in the first case of its kind in the UK, Senator Ekweremadu, his wife and the medical doctor identified as Dr Obinna Obeta, were convicted at the Old Bailey of conspiring to exploit a young man from Lagos for his body part. However, Ekweremadus' 25-year-old daughter Sonia, who was to receive a kidney donation from the trafficking victim, wept as she was cleared of the same charge this morning.
The former Deputy Senate President and his wife were arrested in the UK and charged with trafficking of a 21-year-old street trader from Lagos, for organ harvesting with intent to provide a kidney to Sonia in an £80,000 private transplant at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Let her face the law. Justice must be done.
Disgrace
Abeg make them come carry Orjiuzo Kalu, Hope Ozodimgba, Umahi, Ugwuanyi , Rochas Okorocha, ifeanyi Uba and Ohaneze ndi ara all of our hopeless igbo leaders go joined them for The UK KIRIKIRI . So that they will get sense

British evil criminal's, they are more than evil
Igbo ekwenuuu!!!
The impunity that they see as a 'Normal' everyday afair has been displayed internationally. And the international community doesn't take such nonsense as 'Normal'.
Look at the type of rubbish Sahara Report is typing. correct ur English
Well it is true that justice must prevail no matter who you are. But one thing I don't like is the fact that this man happened to be our former deputy senate president. This man represents Nigeria by the virtue of the post he has held.
This was possible because their system works but they wouldn't allow ours to work by constantly interfering with ours negatively...
Justice has prevailed in another zoo.
🤑🤑
Not surprised a son that abandoned his father and stupidly lives in his maternal home, he's aware his biological home is in okigwe IMO state
Sahara reporters why have you refused to report Bola Tinubu drug case in America
KenchidyChidi Very very unfortunate. What of the boy? Is on asylum? Was he committed to prison sentence.?
Obidients and Biafra agitators are very happy right now. Did you hear Peter Obi commenting on this? Mba
Good news abi, una dey happy abi
One down, one down.
If this news is true and not politically motivated, then this is another big shame for the country. Although, we still have some good representation, especially by few those in diaspora, but we need to burry our faces in shame!
In Nigeria, it's even the criminals that will be telling you to go to court, because they know that justice here is sold to the highest bidder.
Good
More of his kind will meet the same ....when they think they have own the world....No peace for wicked politicians
DOGUWA killed people and his free NIGERIA!!!!!. Ekweremadu attempted Organ Harvesting Convicted!!!!! ENGLAND.
If u attcak okwute (Peter obi)u go land wia u no no
I hope the sentence is not less than 10yrs?
If only he has built good hospitals here… The cries of the poor will alway stand-in for them. Hope other politicians are getting ready for their own payback time cos it must come.
Hope it’s for a long time?
The minimum sentence for organ trafficking (aka human trafficking) is 12 months in jail and unlimited amount of fines. The maximum sentence is life in prison (that's like 25years before possibility of parole). The wife will see the lesser sentence while the doc will get the most
This hatred is too much.
They should give them 50yrs and not put gari in their beans for 2yrs.
Welcome to home of one clothes number 363 🤣🤣
RITAENG1234 Igbo ekwenuuu!!!!!
Every enemy of Nigeria progress and development will be put to shame like this.
Evil is evil. I am ibo and condemn in totality what this mad did. Let him face the consequences. If na yoruba now, dem go say wetin e do correct say na witch hunt. May God save us from tribalism and sectarianism
This is tip of an iceberg
So this man stay for prison before and after election na waooo if na for Nigeria now them go use money settle judge and police men, I wish he will be there till next year so him go Sabi say no be beans 😜😜😜
What brings about the downfall of great people is usually something they took as insignificant/powerless. A poor boy has dragged!! When ppl pray for God to punish their bad leaders, God answers but in a strange way. Ike may not be the worst but will serve as example.
E don be for una!
Mr senator was not clear to the poor boy in question, he wanted to exploit the poor boy as usual using traveling abroad as a bait.
This man will have some old naira stack in his home.abegi we need that naira 😜😜
Perhaps there is a part of the story that Nigerians don’t know about. 🤔
No be the boy dey use airpod already so?
This could not have happen if it was in Nigeria. Thanks to the UK judiciary. Hope ours can emulate upholding the rule of law and defending the constitution.
I was expecting this news since So should we now negotiate if it life or 60years imprisonment 😀
In Nigeria, “Go to court” is the favorite maxim of the corrupt “big man” flexing on public misery. Ekweremadu has just found out it is a different pathway to dishonor in mama Charlie’s England. Perhaps, one day, too, we will have people in power dreadful about going to court.
So like how many years nw
Uncle Justice abeg come spend your next holiday for naija na!
And I asked again, how many years imprisonment? Very important 🤲
This is what every Nigerian politician deserves. No matter how you twist it, a judicial system that works knows that the boy is doing it out of poverty which the Nigerian politicians created.
Fantastic
Oh well
At least UK prison better pass Nigeria own
Justice is a strange in Nigeria
