A federal high court in Lagos has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to electronically transmit results during the March 11 governorship and house of assembly elections in the state.The judge mandated the electoral body to use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System to upload a scanned copy of the EC8A to INEC’s result viewing portal .
According to the judge, the results must be uploaded immediately after the completion of voting in all polling units, adding that the results sheet should be pasted in each PU after voting in the state.The judge also issued a mandamus order mandating INEC to enforce Section 27 of the Electoral Act 2022 in the distribution of election materials by hiring impartial, qualified, and dependable logistic companies that are not partisan.
