Femi Falana has faulted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for failing to obey an order of the supreme court suspending the implementation...

Abubakar Malami. attorney-general of the federation , who is the sole respondent in the suit has also filed a preliminary objectionthe order in line with the rule of law.some commercial banks, filling stations, and traders have stopped accepting the old naira notes from customers.

“In a country where the rule of law operates, once the supreme court has determined a matter or given an order, it is expected that all and sundry – everybody – will comply with the order,” he said.“A statement was credited to the central bank that said since it was not a party to the case, it is not going to comply with the order.

“When he ran to use some proxies to file an action against the central bank board in Delta state, preventing the bank from moving against him for participating in politics, he wasn’t a party. So people can also choose to pick which orders of the court to obey.”The senior advocate of Nigeria added that the CBN is inciting the public against commercial banks despite not disbursing sufficient cash.

Second to Buhari,.... Buhari do not used to obey supreme Court order

CBN has not earned the respect to be respected.

You should have known that an injustice to one is injustice to all. Did falana fault buhari and gang when they refused to obey court's ruling on release of nnamdi Kanu? Injustice begets injustice. It is called 'turn by turn Nigeria limited'

Bro, you for hold Fed Govt and not CBN. Because, if Fed Govt fails to direct CBN to obey supreme court order, I don't see CBN disobeying ooo. Let's be sincere, Fed Govt should be held responsible. Don't let me believe you're bais on this matter ooo

Monetary policy does not fall under purview of tge supreme court.

Lawlessness is the order of the day. The Supreme Court has lost credibility over the number of weak judgements they’ve issued over the years in favour of desperate politicians. How can someone who didn’t buy the senatorial nomination form win a primary? That’s what the SC did.

Supreme court order has long been flaunted, I wonder why people think FG and politicians will suddenly wake up to obey 🤷🏼

Keep quiet! Frustrated&Confused lawyer. How dare u deliberately misinterpreting d constitutional provisions of currency management when u hv known that judiciary & financial agencies has no constitutional jurisdictions to halt GodwinIEmefiele? Only the President hv such powers.

This country is no more national but state of eldorado. What a shame!

Supreme Court is not worth obeying on that matter -- naira swap.
