The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg has ordered that the alleged child victims of Gerhard Ackerman be allowed to testify in closed court and via a video link so that they don’t have to face the accused. | AlexMitchley

Ackerman, who is accused of running a child sex ring, appeared in court on Wednesday where his trial continued.

Clark also recommended that complainants who were vulnerable be allowed to testify with the help of an intermediary. An intermediary generally listens to questions posed and translates them to child witnesses in a way that makes sense to them. After the intermediary’s role was explained to the court, Alberts said they no longer objected to the presence of someone helping the victims in a limited sense as described by Clark. That the evidence of the alleged victims can be heard in camera, meaning their testimony will be closed to the public and media. That some of the complainants be assisted by an intermediary.

For the second part I believe the IRP needs to be scrapped and a technical expert needs to look at Eskom's grid & determine what renewables go where and how much to be placed. Then go to the open market for it.

ANALYSIS: ANC, DA arguing ‘from different galaxies’ about cadre deployment, high court hearsThe Pretoria High Court concluded its hearing about the ANC’s controversial cadre deployment policy on Tuesday. Judges must now decide whether the court is allowed to pronounce on the internal policies of a political party — if those policies have significant real-world implications. If these so called internal policies ( rewarding loyal members) have a direct effect on service delivery to the people it should be challenged if found to be defective. Of course they can pronounce on the internal workings of a GOVERNING party if it is against the Constitution of the country being so governed! What a pathetically distinction trying to be made here!

DA on cadre deployment: ANC influence on who gets top government jobs must be obliterated, court hears | News24The DA's cadre deployment fight with the ANC is not to prevent high-ranking state employees from being members of the party, it's merely to chop down the thought the ruling party can have an influence on who gets top government jobs. | JasonFelix JasonFelix The Our_DA is going the wrong way about this. What they should do is to build a strong case against non performers in government and question their appointment to senior public sector positions irrespective of party affiliation.
