Supreme Court weighs web designer’s refusal to work on same-sex weddings

on Monday hears the latest clash between religious conservatives and LGBTQ rights as it weighs a conservative evangelical Christian web designer's bid to avoid working on same-sex weddings.

Civil rights groups say Smith is asking the conservative-majority court for a “license to discriminate” that would gut public accommodation laws that require businesses to serve all customers.

The 2018 ruling left undecided the broader question now at issue in Smith’s case. If the court rules in favor of Smith, certain business owners would effectively have an exemption from elements ofthat protect LGBTQ rights in public accommodations in some form. The remaining 21 states do not have laws explicitly protecting LGBTQ rights in public accommodations, although some local municipalities do.

Does she avoid working on Muslim sites, Jewish sites, catholic or Mormon sites? How about site from a known adulterer l like Trump. It's a game she is playing, selective prejudice. NOT Christian. Great BIG shame on her.

This is still America and business owners reserve the right of service.

The fact that she is suing despite not one gay couple even wanting to use her stupid website just goes to show how committed to hate some people are to go to these lengths to get in the way of two people's love that have no connection at all to her. She is an evil bigot.

But if HER rights were being violated, you'd be damn sure she would cry victim if her religous beliefs were being violated and it would be all over fox news.

A clash that she initiated against a community that NEVER sought out her services, but one could argue was designed as a PR stunt.

There are tons of sins in the bible to choose from. Wouldn't that be great to allow all businesses to push their own upon everyone else? They have ruined lives with their cakes & pizzas with housing, employment, & healthcare. Let them suffer the 'religious freedom' farce as well

Read the article, Colorado state law forbids discrimination. She can try to change the law or follow the law.
