More than 250 women organisations in Nigeria under the aegis of ‘Feminist Womanifesto’ have written to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), Abubakar Malami, demanding the probe of the First Lady, Aisha Buhari. The women groups described as “unacceptable in a civilian regime”, the arrest, physical assault and continued detention of two Nigerians by police on the order of Buhari's wife for criticising her.

December 2, 2022The women groups described as “unacceptable in a civilian regime”, the arrest, physical assault and continued detention of two Nigerians by police on the order of Buhari's wife for criticising her.

The two victims were detained by government security agencies on the orders of the First Lady. The victims are a 23-year-old final-year student of the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, Federal University of Dutse, Aminu Muhammed and the former social media aide to the First Lady, Zainab Kassim.

Also, the groups noted that Zainab Kassim, who was the social media aide to Aisha Buhari was reportedly beaten and arrested on the orders of the First Lady. “We are concerned that despite the call from Nigerians nothing has been said by the office of the First Lady or the government in this regard to counter the narrative. The development is unacceptable in a civilian regime. The rule of law is expected to be prioritized in all arrests. Furthermore, in this period marking 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, no leader, and certainly not a female leader should be associated with such abuses of power. No one should be above the law.

Why

This prob is welcomed so that Iasha Buhari will tell Nigerians who gave her the power to arrest and detained a student just because he expressed his opinion about her, Aisha is only the president's wife and Nigerians did not vote her into power.

But the boy is right.. Aisha Buhari is over bloating

A mother maltreating another mothers son it’s that simple to understand. Because the other mother can’t fight back. Is that not bullying and intimidation? Apart from the assaults on the boy for speaking the truth or his opinion in a said democracy that brought her to government.

Up till now, no official statement from the government, even if they will deny it ,as usual

It is important to deal justice to this matter so that future President's family dont take law into their hands. This is like what drug cartels do.
