Law firm Allens is first in the door as a few of tollroad owner ConnectEast’s investors consider their options.

The role ensures Allens front-row seats to another potential private capital process, although there are lingering concerns among investors and bankers about what exactly is up for grabs and whether the stake would even be likely to trade.

The deal failed to happen, with the stake wrapped up in pre-emptive rights, tax structures and shareholder agreement that’s not necessarily friendly to outside buyers.
