Australia’s leading law firms say they are approaching 2023 with caution despite again growing their partnership ranks over the past six months.

National law firm HWL Ebsworth has the biggest partnership in the country – a title it has held for several years – with 280 partners.

Global law firm Dentons and leading mid-tier insurance firm Wotton + Kearney followed, each growing their partnerships by 16.7 per cent since July with 13 and eight appointments respectively. Minter Ellison CEO Virginia Briggs said her biggest concern was “navigating uncertainty in business confidence driven by economic headwinds”.
