Local politicians in Cherry Orchard, Dublin call for 10 to 15-year plan to 'turn the area around'

Local politicians in Cherry Orchard have called for Justice Minister Helen McEntee to implement a 10 to 15-year plan to “turn the area around”.

In the wake of a number of incidents, Minister McEntee met with community leaders in the area on Thursday in Cherry Orchard's community centre. The project saw nearly €250,000 in community-based projects for addiction services. Funding was also given to local Garda Youth Diversion Projects in Louth. She acknowledged that they have compiled plans but now need to focus on implementation and coordination.

However, he told the Irish Mirror that this cannot be a flash in the pan and that long-term investment is needed.

I miss read the headline as a plan to get kids aged 10-15 to turn the community around. Wouldn't that actually be an amazing investment.
