The Court of Appeal sitting in Sokoto State has upheld the nullification of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary election that produced Dr Dauda Lawal-Dare in Zamfara State.
The court also ruled that PDP would not field any candidate for the 2023 governorship election in the state.It was nullified on the grounds of irregularities and non-compliance with the party's 2017 Constitution as well as its electoral guidelines for the conduct of elections.In September, the court nullified the previous primary that elected Lawal-Dare following a suit filed before by Ibrahim Shehu and two other aspirants challenging the credibility of the primary.
Also, the Appeal Court further explained that the appellant had no right to appeal the judgement he had already complied with.
