A Florida man charged with killing three teens in a crash days before Christmas 2020 will face misdemeanors, not felonies, after a recent court ruling.

LIVERMORE — A Florida trucker accused of killing three teens in a collision during the 2020 Holiday season will face misdemeanors, not felonies, after a recent court ruling.

On Nov. 1, the Alameda County District Attorney’s office re-filed the case, charging Frederic with three counts of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. The differences between those counts and felonious manslaughter are stark; misdemeanor manslaughter cases can result in relatively short jail stints or even probation, while felonies can result in decades in prison.
