Joshua Webster climbed scaffolding on York Minster, causing £19,000 of damage, a court heard
Joshua Webster climbed scaffolding and spent four hours up on the historic building on 23 November 2021 before being talked down, a court heard. Judge Sean Morris told Mr Webster he should apologise to the Acting Dean and offer to volunteer at the Minster. Mr Webster kicked and pushed a spire during the incident, causing damage worth a total of £19,108 which would take 38 hours of work to repair, the court was told.
A modern day Les Miserables.
Laughable
Another false apology to avoid penalty😡
Isn't it classed as criminal damage
Joke of a senstence, he will during the rest of his life come in to £19k, he shud b made to replay that at a rate that means he isn’t actually dead before he pays it off, end of, he owes £19k
Cool, so we can all have a go at climbing it and just apologise if we cause damage.
And again with the soft law, you’ll be getting a slap on the back of the legs for murder next or a stern talking to fml 🤦🏼♀️🙄
…why isn’t he made to pay £ for it?!
