Newsom signs law that expands family leave, disability benefits for millions of Californians

The bill will boost leave benefits for lower and middle income workers to cover their income when they have to take time off to care for their loved ones or themselves.

By 2025, those earning less than the state's average wage could receive up to 90% of their regular wages while taking leave."California families and our state as a whole are stronger when workers have the support they need to care for themselves and their loved ones," Newsom said.

California employers will be required to post salaries for job listings under new lawEmployers in California will have to post salaries for job listings under a new law aimed at promoting pay equity. Good. They cant blatantly lie to potential hires just to screw them now. Any employer worth their place should have already been honest and loyal to their workforce. The fact that a law has to be written and passed to mandate honesty means the default behavior is dishonesty. I agree with this. Will save time for both parties if the salary is transparent for the candidates, rather than going through the process only to find out it’s not even within the ballpark Good but companies will find a way around it or post something like '$16-$25 hourly' and you'll have to go in, waste your time, hoping to negotiate something in the middle only for them to tell you 'we start off at $16'.
