Ben Pennings, a former Greens lord mayoral candidate, suffered a heavy legal loss after arguing he should only give Adani three sets of files.

It claims Galilee Blockade, including Pennings, caused distress to its workers, used intimidation tactics to try to force meetings with executives, and published images of employees and contractors without their knowledge.Adani has repeatedly emphasised this legal action “does not seek to limit free speech” and they said they made previous offers to Pennings to settle the case outside court.

But Wilson ultimately agreed the documents Adani wanted were relevant to the case, and it was not “a fishing exercise”, as claimed by Pennings’ legal team. In response to the ruling, Pennings – a father-of-three who lives in suburban Brisbane – said the case has “taken a toll” on his family.
