The cases of more than 15 people who are fighting their deportation under the UK's controversial Rwanda deportation policy, will be heard in court next week and six law firms in the UK are representing them. | CdeLENIN

olidarity groups plan to hold nationwide demonstrations while the court proceedings are under way.

They were initially set down for 19 July but were postponed to September, giving each party time to consider all the documents that were circulated between them and to make their submissions and present their evidence. Last week, Border Force union officials were quoted by the BBC saying that from January to 22 August, 22 557 migrants had crossed the English Channel.Demonstrations planned

"Join us at detention centres across the country and stand in solidarity with all those faced with detention, deportation and a cruel and immoral plan to expel people to Rwanda," the organisation said in a statement."Under the Rwanda plan, people will have no opportunity to return here even if their asylum claims are successful. This is not 'offshoring', as many are calling it, but permanent expulsion.
