The former prime minister was a main attraction at the event on Sunday, which coincided with Court’s 80th birthday and also celebrated the 27th birthday of the Victory Life Centre and the installation of its new Perth Prayer tower.Speaking as a guest at the service for over an hour, Morrison appearance at the church was his first since his election loss on May 21.

He appeared in good spirits as he mingled with guests and thanked “Christians around the country” for their prayers over the past four years.“Three years ago I stood before you and I said I believed in miracles,” he told the crowd.Morrison also spoke of how he believes Australia has been gripped by anxiety, but that he holds on to hope.

“Do you believe if you lose an election, god still loves you and has a plan for you?” he asked the crowd.Shortly after, during her speech, Margaret Court praised Morrison as the crowd cheered.Margaret Court praised Scott Morrison as the crowd cheered.While in power, the Morrison government gave Margaret Court’s church more than $500,000 to help build the new tower of prayer, and more than $500,000 towards job keeper payments.

Court landed herself in controversy in 2017 when she wrote a letter to Qantas stating she was disappointed by the airline’s support for same-sex marriage.
