The ruling came more than a month after the stunning leak of a draft opinion indicating the court was prepared to take this step

Alito, in the final opinion issued Friday, wrote that Roe and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the 1992 decision that reaffirmed the right to abortion, were wrong the day they were decided and must be overturned.

“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,” they wrote. More than 90% of abortions take place in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy, and more than half are now done with pills, not surgery, according to data compiled by Guttmacher.

But Alito contended that his analysis addresses abortion only. “Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion,” he wrote.Article content Then-Gov. Phil Bryant signed the 15-week measure into law in March 2018, when Justices Anthony Kennedy and Ruth Bader Ginsburg were still members of a five-justice majority that was mainly protective of abortion rights.Article content

Abortion is not black or white issue . There a lot of grey . That both sides can’t talk like adults. That what happen in USA can’t come to an understand . Then you get one side that dominated. The other side get pissed 😤 off

You are not reporting this correctly. The overturn of Roe v. Wade is no longer a US federal law but is now up to the individual States to enforce that law. Now each State can enforce it's own abortion law. Learn how to report 101.

Think of all the lives being saved, the new humans to inhabit the planet. Women, you're all beautiful- why not give your fruit of the womb with the earth?

It's about time. How many millions of babies have already been murdered in that 50 years? 100-200 million?

The Dems are in big trouble heading into the US Midterm elections. They have screwed up everything they have touched. The R v W was orchestrated by the Dems to be a wedge issue, the only thing they can use against the GOP. It was deliberate and instigated by the Dems.

All the virtue signalers on here be like 'waaa'. The point of the rulling was abortion was never a federal right to give or take in the first place. A more honest report would indicate the supreme court gave the right to decide back to the individual states. Nice try though.

Condom

there are still plenty of states they can abort thier children....Maybe Trudeau should send IUDs over.....im not interested in paying for american abortions when our Native children drink swamp water.

Since our current PM likes to make national policy decisions based on what the US does like regarding gun control, I wouldn't mind if he did the same with abortion and overturned it's legality here. It's murder pure and simple.

ok

Uh oh. More dindus with no baby daddies running around.

One step closer to the Christian equivalent to the Taliban running the USA. Next up on the US Conservative Agenda: bringing back segregation.

This is very bad news for women in the US! Thankfully we live in Canada

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Courtesy of a GOP that says it wants limited government and freedom for gun owners. Today they took away the right of a woman to decide for her own body. What next? Gay rights? Minority rights ? They want freedom for themselves but for no one else.

This is good news!

How 'outrageous' of the court! Now voters in individual states will have to exercise their right to VOTE on the issue and return this back to the DEMOCRATIC PROCESS.......the horror!

I see a business opportunity here, black market sales of the 'morning after' pill.

Glory to God in the Highest

If you were ok with vaccine mandates - this is on you. Never let the government tell you what to do with your body

My body my choice? What about mandatory vaccines 🤔

More left wing rioting, arson and murder to follow. From the side that says they want unity.🙄

A beautiful day for the unborn babies!

Nothing has changed here Canadian virtue signallers.

I love the “my body my choice” signs. Same people who love vaccine mandates

Lol here come the weirdos demanding for the “right” to child sacrifice

its not your body, you made the choice when you decided to open your legs🤷‍♂️

can't wait for the 'peaceful, oh look a building is on fire' protests

😌 good

U.S. abortion providers on ‘heightened alert’ as they brace for Supreme Court rulingAbortion providers and some in law enforcement are preparing for an increase in violence once the U.S. Supreme Court rules I pray for all the children who never got their right to life. I don't blame the women who have abortions, I blame popular culture, and doctors who don't respect their vow to protect life, and a political party that panders for votes by supporting this despicable act.

U.S. Supreme Court expands gun rights, strikes down New York lawThe New York restriction is unconstitutional because it 'prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defence needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms,' said Justice Clarence Thomas Thank you, JCT! Very cool! OMG expanding gun rights is horrible. What if some racists get their hands on these guns? Guns should be banned for good for all of us to stay safe, like in China, which is such a great example of a mild dictatorship. Expect more mass killings, because that is the consequence of striking down reasonable limits on gun ownership.
