The ruling came more than a month after the stunning leak of a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito indicating the court was prepared to take this momentous step. It puts the court at odds with a majority of Americans who favored preserving Roe, according to opinion polls.
Roe v Wade doesn't give you the right to have an abortion. All this ruling does is send that choice to the individual and community level.
And Democrats let it happen.

No, it just means that decision making has been passed back to individual states (closer to the voter) and state law. If people don't like it, they may vote with their feet. If people outside the state don't like it, they can pony-up and sponsor people leaving it.
