Thousands of U.K. workers are starting a four-day work week from Monday with no cut to their pay in the largest trial of its kind. The pilot, which will last for six months, involves 3,300 workers spanning 70 companies, ranging from providers of financial services to a fish-and-chip restaurant.

Thousands of U.K. workers are starting a four-day work week from Monday with no cut to their pay in the largest trial of its kind.

The program is being run by not-for-profit 4 Day Week Global, Autonomy, a think tank, and the 4 Day Week U.K. Campaign in partnership with researchers from Cambridge University, Oxford University and Boston College. Given the company manufactures and ships products, workers have less flexibility about when and where they work, O'Rourke said. But any difficulties in navigating holiday and sick leave would be tackled as a team.

Government-backed trials are set to take place in Spain and Scotland later this year, the 4 Day Week Campaign said in a press release.

Damn I wish I was a part of the pilot! Lol

What will likely happen is far more RSI type injuries, particularly for anyone who already has productivity demands in their job. I was a medical transcriptionist...there is absolutely no way we could have done 5 days work in 4. I developed RSI/CRPS in 5 days.

Not easy for factory worker as well. 24 hour a day operation

What a joke… seriously? People need to get back to reality ffs

not every industry in every company can do 4 days. the corporations have the money to do that. small business cannot. another reason that corporations are evil

I seriously need to be a part of this.
