Government not required to wait for passing of law to start sending migrants to Rwanda, says Number 10 official

They will work on ships and aircraft and will include army personnel, freeing up Border Force staff for processing. Rwanda is not obliged to approve a transfer if this information is not provided, and all requests will require approval from Rwanda before relocation.Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that from 14 April anyone arriving illegally in the UK – and anyone who arrived from 1 January this year – may be sent to Rwanda where they will be offered permanent residency or sent back to their country of origin.

Priti Patel, the latest senior minister to confirm her support for Mr Johnson after the scandal, has insisted the PM deserves"respect" for his"very thorough and fulsome apology".
