A Lake County judge urged attorneys to resolve pretrial issues for the upcoming Melodie Gliniewicz trial after listening to testimony from witnesses about the departure of a Fox Lake village administrator who suspected wrongdoing by Gliniewicz’s police-officer husband.
Melodie Gliniewicz is facing a February trial on charges that she was involved in her husband’s financial crimes. Her attorneys had asked Lake County Judge James Booras to hold Fox Lake in contempt of court because the village had, Gliniewicz attorneys said, failed to turn over all documents related to Marrin’s departure.
At the end of the day, the judge told attorneys that they needed to better communicate to resolve pretrial document issues. He ordered both sides back to court Feb. 8 for an update. Gliniewicz is scheduled for trial in late February.
