A Fort Worth man is suing a former Lake Worth police officer in federal court, calling an incident where he was running away from cops on foot and struck by a police SUV excessive force.
Bates had fled from a traffic stop, and it was later found that he had drugs on him. He had an active warrant. Granado was attempting to pull over Bates for a license plate that didn’t match his motorcycle. However, Bates sped off. "Literally leaves the roadway tracks. Mr. Bates, as he runs through the field, turns his car and runs him down going 45 miles per hour," Roberts said."The decision to flee was a poor decision," he said."In America, you don’t get hit with a car for making just a poor decision," he said.
"I wish that it wouldn’t have happened. I wish that different decisions had been made," Manoushagian said.
Got what he deserved shouldn’t have fled
Ok 1st off LAKE WORTH dont play. 2nd off and Im whispering cuz its just btwn you and I. In 2001 I ran from LA cops after a stop and had I been SMOOSHED Idda been like yup I deserved that. People be suing for shit they did is ridiculous and pathetic.
Almost won the Darwin Award….probably should have
He shouldn’t have ran
The guy wanted to be Evil Kineval. The officer just helped speed up his training. Judge should dismiss it.
Hope the car wasn’t hurt.
May be hard to watch😂 shit we used to see worse on Worlds Wildest Police Videos…and the perp was probably running away in a Speedo or mankini
Play stupid games win stupid prizes
If he is still alive to sue it was not excessive.
