The Texas legislature passed the final version of a bill restricting voter access that sparked a weeks-long political showdown and is expected to be quickly signed into law by the state's Republican governor

Both the state House of Representatives and state Senate - each controlled by Republicans - approved the measure that would outlaw drive-through and 24-hour voting locations and add new identification requirements for mail-in voting.

Democratic lawmakers and voting rights advocates have warned that the Texas bill would disproportionately hamper voters of color, a charge denied by its Republican backers. The bill's legislative approval came after dozens of Democratic lawmakers fled the state on July 12 to break the legislative quorum, delaying its passage for more than six weeks.Voters line up at a polling station during Election Day in Houston, Texas, U.S., November 3, 2020. "Anyone who tells you there is no voter fraud in Texas is telling you a very big lie," Hughes said on the floor of the Senate. "We know it happens. The right to vote is too precious - it cost too much for us to leave it unprotected."

Voter suppression at its best 😼

Misleading headline. Voter access in this bill increases access over what the law allowed before Covid. Today we have increased voter hours vs pre covid.

Don't ya love when 'Christian Conservatives' do the complete opposite of what the Bible teaches?

Time for the next step 🙄.

Supreme Court asked to block Texas' six-week abortion banGroup of abortion-rights advocates and providers file emergency request with the Supreme Court asking the justices to block implementation of a new Texas law that bans procedures as early as 6 weeks. I'm guessing that this 'law' is 100% illegal. Whether you are for or against abortion it is currently legal in all 50 states without a 6-week ban (correct me if I'm wrong) . FYI, I'm pro life but I obey our laws. When killing unborn babies what's the proper time frame? What next? A ban on contraception? These fools really want to get in a good spot in the line for The Rapture I guess!
