Mr Justice Paul Coffey said in this sad and tragic case there was no contest about what the correct verdict should be. He said the evidence was all one way

Ms Morley has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the murders of nine year old Conor, seven year old Darragh and three year old Carla McGinley on 24 January 2020.

Mr Bowman said he suggested this was the only verdict that was in accordance with the oath the jurors had taken and that was appropriate in this case. Despite the best efforts of those around her, he said this was not enough to prevent her slipping into a state of delusion and psychosis in January 2020 from which she could not return.

Dr Wright said in the year leading up to the incident, the words "worthlessness" and "guilt" were repeatedly recorded in Ms Morley's notes. Her delusions became more fixed and not amenable to reason. She came to believe the implementation of her plan to kill her children and herself was necessary and urgent and could not identify an alternative.

The doctor said it was her view that Ms Morley was unable to refrain from her actions as a result of her depressive psychosis. She said Ms Morley's thinking and judgment were impaired and she was unable to generate an alternative to the catastrophic acts of killing Conor, Darragh and Carla. The doctors noted that she had "remarkably nihilistic" beliefs about the effect her mental illness had had on her children.

Both consultant psychiatrists agreed that Ms Morley reaches the criteria in the legislation whereby a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity can be reached.

Point is morally bankrupt hypocrisy double standards of emotional reaction exploited to suit biased propaganda by same people based only on killer gender. Male killer no sympathy for mental illness. No excuse. He was evil etc. Female killer more sympathy for killer than the kids.

Does the judge usually tell the jury what verdict to decide, this seems highly irregular.

I can’t believe she is pleading not guilty, I get she was extremely ill but if I done that to my kids I would want to be punished. Those poor kids were let down by so many. Their mother, father & other family. They all knew how ill she was & still left those kids in her care.

It's worrying that the message is been sent out by P$ychiatry💊 that a person has no control when in 'psychosis' (loss of touch with reality). When person can have control. Many of the tragic cases I've heard about involved people on substances prescribed by same doctors 😞

Does the judge usually decide the outcome? What if it's the Psych-iatric drugging regime that is part of the problem? Any mention that the 💊 they and GPs prescribe are linked to hom-icide? Were true experts / Psychopharmacologists giving evidence? DrDavidHealy

Court hears Deirdre Morley had mental disorderA 44-year-old woman was suffering from a mental disorder when she caused her three children's deaths, and believed their best interests would be served by her taking their lives, the Central Criminal Court has heard. Such a horrifically tragic case. I ache to think what those poor kids went through in their final moments. Tragic case. Noticeable the double standards all the same. When a man does it he's evil as are all men but when a woman does it there's sympathy and understanding for the accused. Give her the option of firing squad or electrocution?
