A woman has told a Cairns court she saw her ex-partner fatally shoot his friend through the chest with a bow and arrow.Joshua James Richards has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Dennis Beattie in October 2018

Joshua James Richards, 30, has pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court in Cairns to the murder of 38-year-old roof labourer Dennis Beattie, from Cooya Beach, in October 2018. In his opening statement, Crown prosecutor Nathan Crane told the court that at the time, Mr Richards had become agitated because he was concerned Mr Beattie had taken a knife and GoPro that belonged to him.
