Thousands of Sydney commuters will be able to pay for Uber, taxis and share bikes with their digital Opal card as part of a world-first state government trial that will offer financial incentives for multi-modal transport.

Transport Minister Andrew Constance said “cross-pollinating platforms” was aimed at reducing the amount of traffic on the road. The report also outlines plans to install electric vehicle charging stations at commuter car parks across Sydney, including West Ryde, St Marys, Riverwood, Revesby and North Rocks.
