UNICEF said the move of the Metro Manila Council prohibiting minors to go outside could be considered an “infringement of children’s rights.” COVID19quarantine

MANILA - The UNICEF on Friday cautioned against prohibiting minors in Metro Manila to go outside their homes for 2 weeks amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, as this supposedly could take another toll on their mental well-being as the pandemic persisted.

The development was also coupled by the reimplementation of a 2-week curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and localized lockdowns to curb COVID-19 spread. The UN agency cited the World Health Organization, which said that the pandemic already disrupted mental health services in 93 percent of the countries worldwide, noting that the call for mental health support has been rising.

The local governments should also “find better ways” to manage the health emergency such as consulting the children and the communities in decisions that might affect them. The health measures should also be “evidence-based” and communicated “transparently.”

Unicef people are ignorant of the real situation in informal “subdivisions and villages” of Manila and other urban centers. Think they are looking at Beverly Hills type of streets. Let them try Maricaban, Sto Niño and Pildera in Pasay, let’s see if they come out uninfected!

UNICEF ano na?! Pag may batang ngka covid hindi sa ospital or sa PCSO ang punta, sa inyo! Pagamot nyo ha

It IS !!

I'm so sorry but I beg to disagree. Safety first!

Unicef, isupin mo muna yan kino-comment mo. May basehan kung bakit hindi pinapalabas. Umupo ka lang muna diyan.

They are prohibiting minors to go outside due to pandemic as additional protection to avoid the virus., not because gusto lang nila implement ito. Minsan i don’t understand anu ba gusto niyo mangyari? Make a better suggestion UNICEF COVID19quarantine

They should question the regulation before our courts. I am almost sure what the decision will be.

Will you adopt them then so they can have all the freedom they want?

Weh di NGA? GIVE US A GOOD MEDICAL EXPLAINATION UNICEF why we should allow minors OUTSIDE, EVEN DER PARENTS ARE AFRAID TO GO OUT BUT CANT AVOID IT BCOZ DEY NEED TO WORK OTHERWISE DEY WILL DIE OF STRESS BY THEIR HOUSEHOLD UTILITIES AND EXPENSES PAYABLES OR WORST BY HUNGER

Ay teka saka ka na muna ano? Pag may nangyari naman sa mga bata andyan ba kayo agad? Health muna nila.

Rights? We have no rights! We're in the dark here!!!

Perhaps we could ask those who come up with this statement from Unicef to move their kids in the streets on Manila just for a day.

They give little wieght on our rights. But to protect our children, I agree that they are better at home than in our streets.

Whaaattt?

What will unicef do if the kid got sick. Pass the work to the parent n govt. Children are parent responsibility. Unicef dont over do your job. Dont cross the line

UNICEF, wag muna ngayon please 🤦‍♀️

So getting them infected is the right thing to do?

Barring minors from going out an ‘infringement’ of children's rights — UNICEFThe decision of the Metro Manila mayors to bar minors outside their homes for two weeks to stem the spread of coronavirus may be considered an infringement of children's rights,” UNICEF said Friday in a statement. Ok naman silang naka kulong sa banyo at tukador UNICEF. Don't worry about it. Dear UNICEF, what will the rights of children be when there are no children to enjoy them? Please, use common sense before issuing idiotic statements. The measure protects the children. Please, your brains aren’t supposed to be decorations. OMG, UNICEF It's for their own good.

Keeping minors in lockdown may be considered an ‘infringement of children’s rights’ - UNICEFWhile it acknowledges the efforts put in place by the Philippine government to control the recent surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections, the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) cautioned against the possible impact of keeping minors in lockdown. The Philippines and the MM Cities have taken an approach of imprison our children without a reason. Some self called health experts like Dr Tony Leachon have backed this terrible idea. The right to be sick? That is why the children of beggars are free to roam and beg. Thank you Unicef for this wonderful belief in times of covid19 pandemic.
