Poland's Constitutional Tribunal ruled on Thursday that abortion due to foetal defects was unconstitutional, banning the most common of the few legal grounds for pregnancy termination in the predominantly Catholic country.

WARSAW - Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal ruled on Thursday that abortion due to foetal defects was unconstitutional, banning the most common of the few legal grounds for pregnancy termination in the predominantly Catholic country.

“ legalises eugenic practices in the field of the right to life of an unborn child and makes the right to life of an unborn child dependent on his or her health,... is inconsistent ... with the constitution,” said Julia Przylebska, Head of the Constitutional Tribunal. A group of right-wing lawmakers asked the Tribunal to rule on the legality of aborting foetuses with abnormalities in December 2019.

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatovic called it a “sad day for women’s rights”. Poland’s opposition said the tribunal was carrying out the political will of the ruling party leader, specifically.

If Poland wants to go backwards, maybe it's time they left the EU and became a Russian puppet state again. No free trade without women's rights.

So sad what’s going on in Poland. Such a beautiful country with tons of corrections to make ¡Religion is criminal!

Can anyone ask if the baby wanted to be born with defects? How many of them will choose never come to the world?

Sad people have to learn the hard way about everything. They'll be in poverty soon enough.

Wow, what a backward country!

Saving the babies!

Hint hint

👍❤️🇵🇱

The misogyny on Poland is absolutely terrifying. Why are the Poles so barbaric? Is it corruption in the government?

Reproductive healthcare in the control of geriatric celibates of the jesus church. jesuskills

Wow.. let’s go backwards 🤦‍♀️

Polska! Jestem wdzięczny za to, że jestem Polakiem!

So plan for black market abortions, botched home abortions and death of women....

Abortion is equal to KILLING..... PRO BIRTH💓💓💓

We have ignorant religious fundamentalists in power. It's a real nightmare.

👏👏👏👏👏!!

Ok, may be the US isn't the worst in the world. Good to know

Aren't they, like, in the middle of massive COVID surge? Who the fuck takes on productive rights in the middle of fucking pandemic? Whose sick mind's idea is that?

Throw them out of the EU

DictatorPope This is good.

S***'s going to hit the fan

Back to the Middle Age. The demons of the inqusition thirst again for cruelty. Time-travelling without heart and brains. Bigotted to the bones. 👎

nwo wont like that

I wonder if in a few years womens will be obligate to use burka in Poland...

Sad freaks.

Wonderful

Completely pointless, because this will only lead to abortion being performed on the so called 'black market' - abortion being performed by doctors with diffuse medical ID. That was the case in Ireland back in the day.

Next they will legalize witch trials.

Well isn't the polish PM an all round delight. Wonder what place he puts himself on the spectrum in 2020? Liberal? Centre 🤔

Nothing bad about banning state sponsored or approved infanticide and/or murder . . . FACTS!

Wow and the EU let these backward nations join the civilised West? Eastern European’s don’t think like the West, they’re closer to Russians

In Northern Ireland all the selfish dumb filthy women were marching with banners singing my Life my Body,My Grandmother said she wishes their Mothers had aborted them, to see how they would have felt and my Grandfather said they wouldnt have felt anything if they got aborted

abortion is murder
