A man accused of the murder of a homeless man who was stabbed over 180 times told gardaí that he heard voices telling him to "do it".

A voluntary statement which Philip Dunbar made to gardaí and signed was read out in the Central Criminal Court today."Floater" was the nickname for Adam Muldoon, the 23-year-old with cerebral palsy who died after he was stabbed 183 times in a park in Tallaght in June 2018.Dunbar told gardaí that "floater" followed him and he helped him over a wall and into a field.

He also told gardaí that he knew he "did the stabbing, I just can't remember doing it. I just blanked out".
