In cases ranging from harassment on the job to debt collection, Amy Coney Barrett's opinions have often tilted toward bosses and business.

Social media teems with conspiracy theories from QAnon and Trump critics after president's positive COVID-19 test

"I don’t really see her as all that radical,'' he says."I don't see her bringing a lot of change in the employment sphere. Obviously, Justice Ginsburg is well known for some opinions that are pro-employee, but many are dissents that she offered. So ultimately what it might mean is there a 6-3 decision instead of a 5 to 4.''

a district court ruled against Smith, an emergency traffic patrol worker, who said he had dealt with a hostile work environment and was fired after he complained about being subjected to racial bigotry on the job. A district court ruled in favor of Suppo, and Barrett later agreed, writing in a 2018 decision that"a reasonable jury could conclude that'' the harassment"was severe or pervasive enough to render Suppo’s work environment hostile.'Barrett joined fellow judges in ruling against a then 58-year-old attorney, Dale Kleber, who accused CareFusion Corporation of age discrimination when Kleber applied for a job that went to a 29-year-old instead.

Barrett wrote in the June 2019 decision that Casillas did not have grounds to bring that suit based on "a bare procedural violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.''Three of Barrett's fellow 7th Circuit judges disagreed. Now, one week after Election Day, the Affordable Care Act will once again be before the justices, and if appointed to the court, Barrett"might well join a majority to basically strike down what’s left of the ACA,'' Tobias says.

She grew up in New Orleans and attended Catholic school her whole life. Like her mentor Scalia, Barrett is a proponent of 'originalism' or 'textualism,' a rigorous method of judicial review. She is exactly what we need in the Supreme Court.

There are ten amendments in the Bill of Rights. She will have time to destroy all of them

What type of person wants to discuss 'abortion' all the time?

Look at what Scalia Jr has done to workers protections as secy Labor

She’s Scalia in her determination to cede power to corporations

Super Spreader Amy has been sent a sign from God. She will infect the whole Trump regime.

...because if she doesn't agree with the Left, she's unfit in their eyes.

and she gladly participated in a super spreader event without a mask

it could also affect the recognition of same-sex marriages in states that didn't want to get on board in the first place.

She couldn't even exercise good judgement regarding public health or her own personal health. Maskless and attending parties? Are you kidding me?

Personally I think most of the country has moved beyond the reactionary old school views of this present government. This is a nation of majority rules.

Right to work is the best policy but if you do not pay dues, you should not get union representation. I never understood why some still do.

Americans can look forward to having fewer rights, than when they were born.

It’s like the citizens aren’t important

Why do you think trump chose her!

We need a judge that cares about us, not the damn businesses.

Could, if, lions, tigers and bears... deep, hard hitting journalism. What's up next, CA to fall into Pacific?

Spin.

An extraordinarily traditional female that cedes rights to anyone with more perceived authority. She’s a wreck waiting to happen.

That's why Trump wants her, he nor she cares about people who have to truly labour to eke out an existence.

Umm she interprets the laws as written ... if the law is on the business side, judgment favours them. If the law is on the employees side, the judgement sides with them ... not that hard to understand the process!

Amy Coney Barrett is a great example of the piece of shit the Republicans want to push through. If Barrett truly was the best person she herself would say because of the latest COVID-19 infections we should wait at least 14 days before moving forward, but she won’t !

Amy Barrett is pure corporate alt-right religious cult-like evil.

And.... What is wrong with that? CNN NYT Trump2020LandslideVictory

Of course! That’s why she was chosen. Trump’s just trying to stick it to us again before he’s voted out. Disgraceful!

Wow way to stand up for the little guy... 🙄😒

Well, of course. Republicans wouldn't want her otherwise.

Amy Coney Barrett’s 2017 Responses Offer Preview of Supreme Court HearingJudge Barrett, whose Supreme Court confirmation hearing is in little more than a week, has tended to respond to senators’ questions about her views with lofty or legalistic rhetoric rather than direct answers. “I can't help but find it a tad ironic that when anyone else is sick Trump wanted them to take hydroxychloroquine. When he himself gets sick he takes an actual experimental drug that might work and has real scientific evidence behind it.” - Fredrick Brennan. 'Good Genes,' Amy Coney Barrett's Nomination, and the Past—and Present—of EugenicsWe must oppose Amy Coney Barrett's appointment to the highest court. A judge who believes in authoritarianism over autonomy, appointed by a president who shamelessly shouts “good genes,” invoking the darkest chapters in our history and known to silence witnesses and be less than forthcoming with the truth, is an affront to our values. marisafox Thank you! 💓💪🏽💕 marisafox Scary is the situation that only the government men have the law of freedom, expression, arming, religion, etc. Austria has much worse situation based on the music professional protection since 1980s.
